The authors of this website are Emilia Gautot and Marike Verniers. We are students Artevelde University of Applied Sciences and are majoring in global entrepreneurship. For the course International Trade English., we have to write various blogs about the book '' The culture map'' written by Erin Meyer. The blogs are mainly focused on future expats who want to relocate to Japan.
The blogs will focus on the various scales discussed in Erin Meyer's book. In these blogs you will get background information and some tips and tricks that might be helpful if you are planning on going to/working in Japan, or working together with people based in Japan.
Hello, I am Emilia Gautot, a 22 year old student from Belgium. I have always had a passion for traveling and I love exploring different places and activities. I have already been to a lot of beautiful countries and big cities, including Spain/Italy/Sweden/Norway/New York/Mexico, and so on. I hope to be able to explore all the parts of the world when I get older. I also studied abroad last year and spent 6 months in Lisbon. I learned so much from this experience and got to know a new culture. Next year I will go on an Erasmus exchange again, this time to Bordeaux. I'm really looking forward to it.
With this assignment, I hope to expand my knowledge about the fascinating Japanese culture, especially because I aspire to travel there next summer with my parents.
Hi, my name is Marike Verniers, and I am 20 years old. I like to be engaged in different activities, and you can witness this from my pastimes. During the weekend I am a leader at the Chiro, and I teach Gymnastics training to children. I love to travel and have the aspiration of traveling to each continent. Currently I have been to Europe and Africa and next academic year I will be studying in Vietnam, Asia. I always found it enjoyable to discover and familiarize yourself with new cultures and this assignment will help me to expand my knowledge about Japan.
